On the 22nd of June, I had my interview scheduled here. Wanting to make a good first impression, I ended up 30 minutes ahead of time. I kept lingering around the area until it was exactly 10:30. Once I entered through the gates my only thought was figuring out where I was supposed to go.
Upon receiving help from one of the staff present I landed in the interview room. There I sat for about 5-10 minutes, wondering what all I’d say when asked to say something about myself. I had no idea of what to expect in the interview so I was prepared for the worst. When I was told to start the very next day, I guessed the interview went well.
The Beginning of The End?
The next day, my first day, I went straight upstairs to the room where my interview took place and it turns out all the team members were present there. As soon as they saw me, they warmly welcomed me. I clumsily kept my bag aside and entered the room to see the faces of my new team members for the first time.
The everyday morning huddle is something that I was found to be unfamiliar with but yet fascinated, as the huddle consisted of sharing the good news of individuals and updating the rest of the team about the progress made by different departments. On the first day, I was assigned a buddy, Sudeeksha who helped me get comfortable and settled in. She would come to check up on me and help me if I was unable to complete any tasks.
The ACT Experience
I consider the prank that they played on me to be the icebreaker even though I didn’t quite fall for it. It showed me that this company is not at all a boring bossy formal environment office. This was a safe workspace where I could talk to anybody, joke around, and make a fool of myself and yet nobody would judge me.
The thing that I admire the most about ACT360 is that we knew when to have fun and when to work hard. Despite the foolish things we might have done during our break, every single individual here is great at what they do and are always eager to teach us, interns. They want us interns to take as much as we can with us when we leave this place. Every opportunity they had they would call us upon and teach us the basics.
Few days I would be piled up with work that needed to be completed ASAP…. Meanwhile, some work could be procrastinated for days. Looking back in time, meeting deadlines was one of the major challenges I faced here. Even though my seniors helped me if I got stuck somewhere, it was kinda embarrassing for me to keep asking them for help again and again. If they had a problem with my work they would give me proper feedback on how I could improve my writing.
So….This is Goodbye
At ACT360 it is not just always work…..We played games and bonded on a deeper level on working Sundays, we even organised a cheese ball challenge for the whole team, and trust me when I say this, some of the reactions were just hilarious. You can find the video on their Facebook page :p
Even though I was here for only 2 months, I never felt left out and was included in everything. Sadly, my time here is over now and I’m definitely going to miss this place, the prank call, daily vibing through random songs, and the food we got from collecting donations.
What I did here are all nothing but precious memories and lessons I will forever cherish. Choosing to intern here was certainly one of the best decisions I ever made. I can be sure when I say that my skills have sharpened unquestionably. I hope you guys keep doing awesome things and wish you all the best.
